UCLA Health and Aidin reward high quality providers in LA County

Press release

Today, UCLA health announced the 4 Los Angeles County post-acute facilities who are winners of the Aidin Grant for Quality Improvement. The winning skilled nursing facilities – Berkley East, Berkley West, Country Villa Westwood and Pacific Post Acute – will receive a $5,000 grant to invest in quality improvement programs approved by UCLA Health’s Chief Nursing Executive, Karen Grimley PhD MBA RN FACHE.

The Aidin Grant for Quality Improvement was first announced at the Aidin Awards, a private ceremony recognizing UCLA’s top performing post acute partners. UCLA’s Aidin Grant and Aidin Awards are part of a national campaign to celebrate high quality post-acute partners and their referring health systems.

The Aidin Awards are sponsored by Aidin, a national movement of inspired local leaders who believe health care reform happens when day to day workflows empower better decisions on where to receive care.

Leaders weave Aidin’s 3 principles into the daily fabric of their healthcare community:

  • Open Competition every day for every patient referral
  • Put Quality Data First to reward high quality providers
  • Create Accountability through real-time monitoring of your team

Aidin certified organizations renew their staff’s purpose at the Aidin Academy, simplify complex workflows using the Aidin App, and celebrate high performing staff and providers at the Aidin Awards.

Starting with post-acute transitions, UCLA reduced patient length of stay by a full day, saw 18% fewer readmissions from post-acute providers, and saved over $3M. Nationally, Aidin has helped over 100,000 patients choose quality over convenience, directing over $1.8B of healthcare spend to high quality providers.

Local Aidin Awards hosted across the country culminate in Houston, TX with the national Aidin Awards ceremony honoring the country’s best post-acute providers and their partner health systems. The Awards in Houston coincide with the national American Case Management Association conference in March 2018.
